There is an earthing screw on the mechanical adaptor which may be used as a
functional earth terminal. If no earth connection is available because of the
particular installation circumstances (e.g.: if the tank is plastic), the functional
earth must be connected. We recommend using a 16 AWG cable and as short
a line length as possible.
The level switch ENS 3000 must be installed as near to vertically as possible in
the tank. If the ENS 3000 is not mounted vertically, then the accuracy of the
ENS deteriorates with increasing angle of incline. (Additional inaccuracy if ENS
is at an angle of 5°: approx. ±0.5% ; additional inaccuracy if at an angle of 10°:
approx. ±1.5%).
3. Commissioning
Method of determining the offset value:
We suggest the following procedure for determining the value of the fluid
level offset (difficult when display is showing nTop or nMin):
Start by installing the ENS 3000 in the tank, then check if the ENS 3000 is
flashing or is showing a value greater than zero. If the display is flashing,
the level is outside the active measuring zone (level too high or too low). If
the level is too low, gradually increase the level – by adding fluid – until the
value 0 is displayed. Then remove the ENS 3000 from the tank and use a
measuring device to measure the depth of fluid inside the tank. Depending
on the model, this depth is entered at menu point
in “inch “ or “cm “.
If the display is not flashing, or if the level is too high, gradually reduce the level
– by draining the fluid – until the value 0 is shown in the display. After removing
the ENS 3000 from the tank follow the procedure described above.
Important:
Before commissioning select the type of fluid: oil or cooling lubricant. For the
procedure, please see Point 7.2.
Note:
After detecting a valid measurement, the ENS 3000 with 4 switching points
will check if faults are present in the active zone. If they are higher than the
measurement detected it corrects them. After approx. 15 minutes these
corrections are stored permanently, only
if the type of fluid is set as oil.
Menu point
is used to reset faulty corrections and the learning phase
re-starts (see Point 7.2 Summary of the basic settings).
